Forget thigh-high skirts and plunging necklines: the current on-trend look is for the new conservative, which means finding new ways to be sexy without revealing too much skin.

TOWIE star Lucy Mecklenburgh is a big fan of this look, as seen in the outfit she wore at the weekend for drinks in London.

She donned a gorgeous turquoise party dress with cap sleeves, a sweetheart neckline and an elegant knee-length hemline, while a skinny black belt cinched in her waist.

The reality TV star chose black high heels to accessorise the colourful dress as she sipped cocktails with her friends in Covent Garden.

Other celebrities to have adopted the new conservative look are Victoria Beckham, with her love of tailored pieces inspired by the 1940s, and Kate Middleton, who always looks fabulous in skirts and dresses that end slightly above the knee.

Want to get the look? Opt for feminine dresses that are fitted to your figure but don't expose too much leg or cleavage, and wear with wedge heel sandals for a perfect posh summer outfit.
