Heading off to sunnier climes this summer? Watch those extra baggage fees levied on a couple of extra kilos and make sure you pack light when it comes to your beachwear.

According to Suds, founder of London fashion stylist collective PimpMyClothes, gathering together a capsule wardrobe consisting of pieces that work well together is all about doing your homework.

"This is about forward planning - check the weather before you leave and always remember to dress for the place you are going to," he advised.

"The key to a successful capsule holiday wardrobe is being able to have a wide selection of looks at your disposal; so, take clothes which you can perfectly mix and match."

Think maxi dresses worn over bikini tops for the beach and dressed up with a pair of cute metallic wedges and a clutch bag for the evening, or choose party dresses that can be transformed with a statement necklace or pair of earrings.

"I tend to take versatile clothes so I can effortlessly attain a complete new look by changing a few accessories so it will be fit for every occasion or activity," advised Suds.

"The key is wearing outfits which are open to suggestions and if you are really stuck and need fashion inspiration you can always pick up an item of clothing at your destination."

Choose one main dress and team it with a cropped cardigan for those colder nights and pair with some gorgeous colourful bangles for a perfect daytime holiday outfit.
