Wishing for wellies to while away the wet?
Wooo, the sun's finally out! Great news for me - I've bought loads of bralet tops in preparation for the summer and I cannot WAIT to break them out!
I'm pretty annoyed though - last week I invested in a pair of red polka dot wellington boots after seeing the Hollyoaks cast larking around on set for a festival scene they were shooting, and now the rain has stopped. When am I going to wear my wellies?!
Soap actress Tamaryn Payne - who plays PR student Annalise in the Chester-based drama - seemed to have the right idea. She teamed her pink floral waterproof boots with a pale blue strapless dress and a long pair of purple knee-high socks - very Lily Allen circa 2009.
Jessica Forrest, whose character Leanne is known as something of a mischief-maker in the Hollyoaks village, wore her multicoloured stripy wellies with a cute grey playsuit accessorised with a floral belt and matching trilby hat. A long beaded necklace gave her a cool festival vibe - perfect for this year's V!
So what else can I wear my wellies with? I posed this question to a few of my girlfriends and they all agreed that wellingtons are probably the hardest footwear to accessorise. They're a definite no-no in the office and even more so for a night out, but mine are too pretty to confine to muddy walks in the country!
Made in Chelsea star Millie Mackintosh went for the hotpants and T-shirt option when she did a farm-inspired photoshoot earlier this month. OK, so tiny shorts aren't hugely practical when it comes to operating heavy machinery, but for a city girl like me it's good to get your legs out once in a while, especially on those days when it starts out rainy but ends up being warm and muggy.
So my little Wishers, go wild with your wellies - and report back to me what you wear them with!
Love and air kisses,
